Super fresh ingredients. Super friendly service. I would make the vegetable more pickled to help add more flavor contrast, as well as add a bit more of it to balance out all of that rice. The pork is very tender and moist, but it's not really Vietnamese (or even fusion). Perhaps you could add a bit of sweetness (like a glaze). Some jalapeno slices would also pull it together (or swap out the aioli for the sriracha). Vietnamese is all about combining the five elements. Your bahn mi burrito has salty (pork), some sour (the veg), and a tiny touch of bitter (cilantro); however, you're missing the sweet and spicy. Add that, and your burrito beats them all.

Inside the truck was so dark when the guy finally showed upo that I wasn't sure he could even see what he doing in there.
I may give them a try some other time but won't go when they say they'll be open (to try to avoid the rush if there were one)so I won't be left standing/waiting. Instead I went to DCTaco for the first time and was neither pleased nor dissatisfied.
The chicken taco was yummy but the Banh Mi taco was awesome. Great flavor. Get the homemade cherry limeade on the side!

This is the second time I have had the Banh Mi Tacos in the past week. They were good enough that I did what I hate, and tweeted a photo of my lunch.

Was in the mood for Vietnamese but could not find Vietnam restraunt in Friendship Heights. Saw the East meets West food truck and thought I'd give this one a try. Wanted tacos but tortillas are flour and I prefer corn so I had the BahnMi Bowl with Rice. The rice was cooked perfect, nice and sticky moist, not at all dry. The pork was tender and flavorful. Really enjoyed the carrot and daikon radish "slaw", had nice (not too) sour/sweet pickle flavor. I will definitely eat at this truck again

This truck is not one of the regulars that come around my place of work, but I have seen it once or twice before. Today I decided to try it, and I was really pleased! I wanted to order the hard shell tacos, but they did not have any taco shells left, so I ordered the Texan rice bowl. It was delicious, and the black bean corn salsa was bursting with fresh flavor! The rice was very plain (just white, without lime or cilantro or any spices), but thank Goodness I keep a small bottle of lime juice in the fridge at work. The tweet they posted on Twitter today said, “FREE home made drink with purchase of any entrée!” But, I was not offered that. 🙁 All in all though, the meal tasted very light and flavorful and fresh, and I would absolutely try this truck again, especially because I want to try the guacamole next time. (They did not have any today because of the current avocado shortage in California.)

This is a good taco truck. I can't decide which one I like better, the pork (banh mi), or the chicken (The Texan). They are both good sized tacos and the flavors work well together. There is only one guy in the van so you order from him then he makes your order and hands it to you before taking the next order. You stand in line longer but you avoid the annoyance of figuring out who is in line and who is waiting for food.

Wanted to like this one, but it was only OK. Excellent Asian toppings, but the bowl as a whole was really dry. I poured on the Sriracha, which was the only liquid/sauce in the bowl. Maybe the rice was dried out, I'm not sure. Regardless, would not return.
