Pulled pork shoulder was pretty good BBQ. The meet was thick chunks, well seasoned and tender. the BBQ sauce was definitely hot...must have some habanero in there.

One complaint--and this brought it down from 4 stars for the pulled pork to 2 stars overall! Don't advertise pork belly, when all you have is thin bacon! I love BBQ pork belly and this wasn't it!

The mac and cheese was different...did't like the gorganzola cheese...too strong. Nothing to tone down the strong cheese taste. But, the mac and cheese stands up to the BBQ sauce...need to eat the mac & cheese in between sandwich bites.

Pretty disappointed with this truck given the otherwise positive reviews. They were sold out of their signature pulled pork so I tried the alternatives, and they just weren't very good. The pastrami was lukewarm (which is way worse than hot OR cold), the bread was soggy and desperately needed to be toasted, and the mustard was overwhelming compared to the rest of the sandwich. The mac and cheese wasn't mac and cheese in any traditional sense; it was separately cooked plain pasta with a cheese sauce poured over it (which was admittedly a good cheese sauce). Still, it didn't have the smoothness or texture of a decent mac and cheese, and for something called "jalapeno" you could barely taste the spice.

Definitely not going back to this truck, particularly while it's in Farragut Square with Loeb's (home of DC's best pastrami) 50 feet away.

Great taste, really saucy and I had to eat it w/ a fork. Bacon was amazing. Beans were excellent, slaw wasn't really my type (vinegar) but still pretty good. For the $12 total, there wasn't as much food as I would have wanted, but definitely worth checking out. I had the super-spicy sauce, which overwhelmed the flavor a bit. I'll probably stick with spicy next time. And yeah, there will be a next time.

Food was good.. Pastrami was great.. lots of flavor and tender. Slaw was vinegar based but very good! The mac and cheese was even better than some of those that only sell mac and cheese. Let them know how you like it and they will make if just right! The Smokey Joe is soooo good.. tender and tasty!

What Did You Order?: Sweet & Spicy Chicken w/ Jalapeno Mac

*THE SANDWICH*
The bun was soft yet still held the sandwich together nicly. The chicken was flavorful and as promised sweet&spicy. The flavor and heat linger for a while after you finish your last bite, which this reviewer really likes. However, the chicken was over cooked and dry and there was not enough of sauce to cover it up either.

*Jalapeno Mac*
Not worht the extra $2. You get a very small portion and its just ok. There was very little jalapeno flavor and the cheese sauce had a gritty texture. It may have been in the heating unit too long, but it was not smooth or creamy at all. They just put a glob of it on some over cooked (way past al dente)macaroni.

*Overall Impression*
Needs to work on temperatures of the food so everything comes out at optimal doneness. For $10 I should have been full, bigger portions would be nice. Fast service and good flavors keep this food truck at 3 stars.

PORC Mobile, which stands for Purveyors Of Rolling Cuisine, started serving on February 2nd, 2011 in Washington, DC. A soft opening was held on the weekend of January 29, 2011 at Pug on H Street Northeast.

PORC Mobile serves all things meat, from smoked brisket to BBQ pork and sausages. However, vegan specialties, like the Best Damn Veggie Burger, round out the menu.

On March 1, 2012, PORC announced that they would be opening a brick & mortar restaurant, named Kangaroo Boxing Club, located in Columbia Heights at 3410 11th St NW.  The truck got a makeover on May 10, 2012 by a local grafitti artist add some color to their previously monochrome truck.

The newest look debuted on May 30, 2013!
